August is in full bloom. Mid-summer carries a distinct energy—a vibrant mix of celebration, travel, summer festivals, and outdoor adventures with friends and family. Whether you are dancing under the open sky, spending quiet afternoons by the water, or camping under the stars, taking time to rest and recharge is essential for our personal well-being.
As we immerse ourselves in the bliss of the season, holding space for safety ensures our summer memories remain joyful and restorative.
4 Essential Tips for a Safe & Soulful Summer

Whether you're attending outdoor gatherings, camping, or exploring nature, keeping these foundational safety practices top of mind will protect you and your loved ones:
🌊 Prioritize Water Safety: Water brings deep healing and relaxation, but conditions can change quickly. Always swim within designated areas, supervise children attentively, and wear properly fitted life jackets during boating or water sports—no matter how experienced a swimmer you are.
🔥 Practice Vigilant Fire Safety: Summer campfires and outdoor grilling are quintessential seasonal traditions, but dry conditions require extreme care. Keep campfires small, maintain a clear perimeter away from dry grass or overhangs, always have water or sand nearby, and extinguish coals completely until they are cool to the touch.
☀️ Hydrate & Cool Mindfully: Sunshine fuels our energy, but heat exhaustion can creep up quickly. Drink plenty of water throughout the day—especially during festival dancing or hiking—and seek shade during peak UV hours to protect your body’s nervous system.
🧭 Stay Grounded in Travel & Crowds: Festival season and travel can bring overwhelming sensory input. Set clear meeting spots with family or friends when attending busy events, stay aware of your surroundings, and allow yourself quiet moments to step back and take a deep breath when needed.

Looking Ahead: The HeartTalk Experience – Vancouver
As we enjoy these summer days, we are also looking forward to an extraordinary milestone coming this fall. On Saturday, September 19, 2026, we are hosting The HeartTalk Experience at the Unity Centre in Vancouver, co-hosted alongside Susanne Darmon.
Why It Started & Why It Matters
The HeartTalk Experience was born out of a profound truth: where stories heal, communities rise. Over the years, we have seen how isolated people can feel when navigating loss, grief, life transitions, or emotional challenges. We created HeartTalk to break down those walls—bringing people together in a safe, heart-centered environment where real stories are shared, real connections are made, and genuine healing takes root.
It is not just an event; it is a movement to build community resilience, honor lived experiences, and remind every person that they do not have to walk their path alone. With 6 featured speakers, 10 local wellness vendors, light refreshments, and deep connection, this afternoon promises to awaken hearts and inspire lives.
Date: Saturday, September 19, 2026 | 1:30 PM – 3:30 PM
Location: Unity Centre (5840 Oak Street, Vancouver, BC)
Tickets: $20 Early Bird (Seating is limited to 100 guests) Click on the QR code in the poster above to register.
